Nov 27, 2011 – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-6) hope to right the ship when they travel to Nashville to take on the Tennessee Titans (5-5) Sunday afternoon at LP Field. Tennessee quarterback Matt Hasselbeck is expected to play Sunday, after leaving last week’s 23-17 loss to the Atlanta Falcon in the third quarter with a right elbow injury.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

On Tuesday, several players for the Tennessee Titans provided turkey and other items needed for a complete Thanksgiving meal to hundreds of Nashville families in need.

The players partnered with the Martha O’Bryan Center to distribute the meals that can feed a family of five.

Wide Receiver Nate Washington was among the players who spent time giving passing out the makings for a Thanksgiving meal, signing autographs and spending time with the recipients.

“Anytime you are able to bless others with the many blessings that we’ve already received in our position you have to. It’s not a want to, it’s a have to,” he said.

Titans Wide Receiver Lavelle Hawkins told Nashville’s News 2 he knows first hand what it is like to be in the position that many of the families in need are currently in.

“I was one of those guys, where we didn’t have a lot and people came back and gave to us and I feel like that’s our job to come back and give to them,” he said.

Lorrie Hinkle-Reedy has worked as a volunteer for the Martha O’Bryan Center for several years.

She told Nashville’s News 2 she and her family were just one of hundreds that were given a meal provided by the players.

“I live here. I live right down the street from here and a lot of these families wouldn’t have a Thanksgiving meal had it not been for God touching the Titans’ heart and having the Titans do this in my community,” Hinkle-Reedy said.

The Martha O’Bryan Center helps those in poverty to transform their lives through work and education.

For more information on the center, visit their Web site.

Read More: Brandon Lloyd (WR – DEN), Tennessee Titans, Denver Broncos, Carolina Panthers

With just four days remaining before the NFL trade deadline hits, interested teams will inquire about Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Lloyd, who is reportedly quite available. Two teams have already emerged as potential landing spots, but it seems unlikely that either place will trade for him–at least according to the beat writers.

The Carolina Panthers could use another wide receiver opposite Steve Smith, which would help rookie quarterback Cam Newton. However, long-time Panthers beat writer Darin Gantt thinks a trade won’t happen between the two teams because Lloyd is an aging veteran who is a free agent and wants a nice, new contract at the end of the year. Those are all reasons the Broncos want to trade him.

The Tennessee Titans are also a possibility as they lost receiver Kenny Britt to a right knee injury in a game against the Broncos this season. Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean believes the Titans are interested in Lloyd as well as other receivers. He doesn’t believe the Titans will make a deal with any team.

For more on the Broncos, visit Mile High Report. Visit SB Nation NFL for more news and notes around the league.

Chris Johnson's quest for a new contract will apparently go on for another day: his meeting with the Tennessee Titans in Nashville on Wednesday, ostensibly to negotiate terms for a new contract that could make Johnson one of the NFL's highest-paid players, ended without a new deal.

Chris Johnson’s quest for a new contract will apparently go on for another day: his meeting with the Tennessee Titans in Nashville on Wednesday, ostensibly to negotiate terms for a new contract that could make Johnson one of the NFL’s highest-paid players, ended without a new deal. The meeting, which took place at a Nashville restaurant and included Johnson, his agent Joel Segal, Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt, and a Titans contract expert, ended midday on Wednesday, according to the Associated Press.

NFL Network reporter Albert Breer tweeted a statement that Reinfeldt released after the meeting:

“I’m not sure there was any progress made, but I do think it was beneficial to meet. We were able to discuss several different elements of a potential contract, but there was no agreement on those topics. I do expect to have another conversation with Joel in the next day or so.”

It’s likely that there is still a gap between Johnson’s desire to be paid as one of the NFL’s best playmakers and the Titans’ interest in making him the league’s highest-paid running back without overpaying for his talents.

Johnson has been holding out of Titans training camp since August 9, and would be unlikely to be fully ready for regular season action even if he were to show up for practice on Thursday.
